When turning a corner the stearing will not straighten out by its self. You must turn the wheeel back to center.

I did jack the front up and found that it is smooth as silk with no binding and turns with minimal effort.

Any ideas?

Shims in the rack? Usually you'll feel binding however if no weight on the front end.

Turn the steering wheel *fully* to the left.

Then turn the wheel fully to the right and count the exact numer of turns to do this.

Then turn exactly half that number of turns back towards the left.

Then get out and look at your front wheels.

If they are not exactly pointing straight ahead, you have a toe-out-on-turn misadjustment (usually caused by setting toe when the rack is not exactly centered). This can cause kickback problems.

The other problem could be caster, but since caster is not easily adjustable in a Spridget, this means bent parts, bent frame or misassembly.

The ball ends at the end of each rack (the "inner tie rod ends") are not too tight...are they?

Mine doesn't center too well if I don't lube the uprights on schedule. Could be an alignment issue too.

Ok, same thoughts as mine. Will put the front wheels on turntables and start over with alighment. Center rack. and align from there. I have no binding anywhere. Smooth as silk with wheels off of the ground for example.

Got to wait till my bud with the race equip gets back in town next week.
