Crazy door question

Crazy question of the day. Can you put early midget doors say from a 63 midget on a 74 midget.

Outside pannel is the same size but they are different I think.

Not sure that they'll work. I know the inner door panels would be different between those years.

The passenger door on my 74 Midget is from a 68. The only difference is that the 68 is missing the added cross bar support for side impact crashes. The 68 door probably weighs 30 lbs less than the 74 door but fit fine.

The two online articles I just looked at (MiniMania and Wikipedia) both indicate the roll-up window doors were introduced in 1964 so I doubt a door from a '63 would fit on a 74. From what I see, that'd be like trying to put a Bugeye door on it.

what I was thinking about were early roll up window doors being lighter like Tim did to his car, that's a lot of weight and that equals speed and mpg.

I did it because the 74 door I had was a total loss. The 68 I found was in pretty good shape. Weight was coincidence.
