Crankshaft pulley / damper

Hi - I've been putting my 3000 Mk1 engine back together and realised the original vibration damper pulley is broken. I do have one from a Wolseley 6/110 which looks to be OK is the same diameter fan belt pulley but has a different damper design.

Question - would it be Ok on the 3000? Any one used one of these?

I don't know about that, but have replaced the original on an early 3000 with the one from Moss ( part # 031-206 ).
Very good results, and a good quality part.

How's the rubber lamination look? Given their age, and seeing the damage that a failed damper can do, there's just No Way I would put any 50 - 60 year-old damper on an engine without sending it out to a professional for rebonding first.

Just my opinion, of course.

Work was good, turnaround quick, but they use silicone rubber and the rubber is indented instead of bulged out like original (if you care about such things).

Having had an old damper break, I agree with Randy. If you want a better damper and aren't into Concours, go with the Moss one.
