TR2/3/3A crank handle for tr-3

I have a 1957 Tr-3 with a tr-4 engine, also it has a tr-4 fan pedestal which is longer than the tr-3 one. I got a shorter tr-3 pedestal and crank bolt today, I have a tr-3A hand crank. I would like to know if it is just the distance of the fat part of the handle that separates the two handles. It looks like the fat part can be moved as it appears to be pressed on to the handle.
Thanks,

Here's some pics of 2 handles which might offer a clue:

But I would think moving the 'fat bit' would be very difficult.

They come up often on eBay... were it me, I would sell the crank you have and buy the crank you need.
