TR2/3/3A Craig's list TR3 - Asheville, NC

I would have to disagree with him on one point...all the hard work is not done.

Lotsa very tedious assembly work left. Many more hours. Still might be a good price depending on what he has in new parts and the condition of the mechanical's. Think I'll take a pass on this one. heh

I'm guessing he thinks the body work is the hard stuff.

After having done a complete resto on my TR3, including all the body work and paint, I would have to say that the body work was the most time consuming and most difficult aspect of the restoration. Of course, I never did body work before this challenge, so there was a big learning curve. Still, even with all the knowledge and techniques I've learned, if I were to do another car in the same condition as my last car, the body work would still be the most time consuming aspect.

That's where I was coming from Art. I've never found body and paint work to be easy.

I hope having "All new panels welded in" does not include
having welded the fenders in also! Would not be the first
to pull that trick (WE KNOW!).

I'm with Art and Doug, but that's of course because body work is not something that's in my skill set.

Hi There Folks,

I`ve done a "Body-Off" on a `58MGA & currently on my `57TR3. "For Me"; The hardest work was the "Dis-Assembly" of all the Body Panels. Fighting all those rusty Nuts and Bolts etc. I was relieved when that was done! Then off to the blaster & currently in the Body Shop for the Pros to complete.

I`m a detail freak & enjoy stripping, priming & painting all the other parts such as chassis, suspension, engine etc & polishing whatever could be polished.

Enjoy the trip to "Restoration Heaven",

Russ
