TR2/3/3A Cracked TR3 block...

First of all, I would like to thank everybody for your comments. I think this is going to be a GREAT experience! I made a call to a shop in Orlando by the name of Imagination Engineering (407 521-5730). Jeff is the man I spoke with, and I believe he is the owner (he speaks with a British accent...does it get any better than that?). I found out through a friend that he has a block for sale, so I asked him about that engine and asked him a couple of questions about mine. He told me that 9 out of 10 TR3 blocks will have a crack in the "web" between the sides of the block. He said not to worry, since the head actually seals against the liners, and the head studs act as a girdle to compensate for the slight lack of integrity. I have to believe him since his comment resulted in not buying his block.

I'll keep you guys posted as to the progeress of the rebuild. I hope to be back on the road in 6 weeks...just in time for the best cruising weather down here in Florida.

Thanks again for your imput. Like I said this seems like a GREAT forum!
