Just did my re-certification for CPR, as required by all health care professionals, as well as many others. For those of you not familiar with the process, it would be a good thing to at least read about it and know what CPR can and cannot do. Unlike the movies, CPR has a very low success rate without further action on the patient. CPR does not restart the heart, it only keeps the blood flowing until more can be done.

Note, I do not profess to being an expert in CPR, only certified.

Just wanted to raise awareness about CPR and other potentially life-saving measures to everyone. One never knows when the opportunity may arise, even at home.

Being involved with the local fire department,we have to take
classes every year,& it seems like they change things every year.
Being you have to get new books every time,we figured out that
the changes must be made by the people selling the books,so they can
make more money by making you replace them.

Thanks for the reminder Bill. CPR is something everyone should learn.

I've found the Heimlich maneuver equally important.

Administer First Aid... as circumstance dictates.

After having to perform CPR on my young boy a couple of times,
I pray that I will never deed it again

I witnessed a customer SAVED by a waitress at a restaurant I was having dinner in and it was BIZARRE.
This guy was obviously choking on his food; the waitress came right up behind the guy and did the Heimlich on him... out came the food but what was bizarre was that right after it happened (she saved this guys life!) he sat down and began to eat his dinner as if nothing had happened, the waitress began waiting on other tables as if nothing had happened. No-one said "Thanks" and the waitress acted as if nothing happened.
I sat there in disbelief!

But did he take the piece and stick it right back in?

OK ,never mind, TMI

Ask 'smits. She's been there, done that.

Choking or CPR, the first responders are vanguard .

Bill... you must ONLY administer First Aid.
