I think they get paid to talk about those products. Would money do anything to sway their opinion?

I'm not at all surprised; this happens all the time. Whenever one of these scam products appears, some people naively buy into it. Then, having committed to it, they start seeing the purported benefits, even if they really don't exist. It's just human nature--people see what they want to see. They don't want to see that they've been taken, so they don't see that.
