Is this the last known original Triumph/MG sales sign still standing in the USA?

Took this picture today when I was working in Newport, RI area.

Competition Imports Rte 114, Newport, RI

Just another used cars sales place now. No MGs or Triumphs on the lot.

There is local shop that still hangs an MG/Austin/Jaguar sign and a Fiat sign proudly at their business. In the showroom is an Anniversary Edition MGB with about 700 original miles.
It's amazing the signs have held up so well for so long.

I was in Rapid City South Dakota in the 90s and a guy had a shop where he still displayed a BL sign, had sold MGs and TRs and others new, anyone know if that is still there?

hey i remember that sign! about ten years ago or so was a triumph/mg parts place there. unfortunately they went under im suprised the sign is left.

The wife and I were in Hoquiam (or Aberdeen - senior moment!), Washington a few years ago, and I spotted a similar sign at a garage. Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera with me. May still be there.

I remember the sign in Rhode Island, even went back
to take a picture of it.Oldest Son was attending the
Naval Academy Prep School (NAPS) in 2002.
I also heard about the one in Hoquiam (our Daughter
lived there for awhile),but didn't see it when we were
there.
I was thinking... "wouldn't it be cool to have that",
but where do you put something like that?

Whoa! That's so cool - you guys dredged up my memories.

There also used to be one in Salem,Oregon.
Wonder who got that one?

- Doug

What makes me feel old is that the very first time I went past that place there really were new Triumphs and MGs in the little showroom and on the lot.

Yep - I thought the same thing, Doug. We saw the one in Hoquiam 2 or three years ago. Bet it's still there. The building was pretty old, but I think there was still a shop there.

Given the condition, it's a shame they didn't contract with the signmaker to do bodywork...

Yep, that's why they often called the Mercedes a German Buick. I never knew why so early on were so popular. They leaked oil all over the place, smoked, and required a lot of maintenance. Hmmm, I wonder if an Englishman somehow got their design team.
