An interesting 1978 "Tupolev N007 Gullwing Boat" will be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson in January. It's an amphibian - sort of a super high tech swampboat. I presume it's on the BJ website somewhere (lot #1307) - it's in their "Sneak Peak" catalog that they apparently "sneaked" to 98 million people this week. It was built to collect cosmonauts after a flight and had to be able to "...cross lakes, swampy tundra, and hostile terrain,...at temperatures well below freezing and speeds above 100 km/h."

It's a very impressive beast. It was offered on eBay in October of 2005 and got no bids - the reserve was apparently over $150,000. I imagine someone will pay a lot more at BJ.
