Correct U-Bolt Sizes

Everyone,

I'm starting to put my rear suspension back together, and along the way I lost the U-bolts. I was wondering if someone out there had the specs on them so I can source them locally...

Thanks!

I'm guessing and certain you don't want run of the mill U Bolts. Hardened likely and if not from the usual sources a spring shop that works on boat trailers might be able to help out. Not something to source from local Ace Hardware Store.

Check out your local phone book for a spring shop in your area. Most of them either have U bolts in stock or can make them to spec. Just need the spacing and axle tube diameter and length.

Someone quite some time ago reported getting just what he needed at a boat supply store.

I'll bet that if you just ask that a few pairs of old but good shape ones could find their way to you for just the cost of shipping!! (hint, hint)

Inside measure:

2-1/8" wide

5-1/2" deep

3/8-fine thread.

They are made from ordinary, low-carbon (mild) steel.

Or easier yet reread these posts as you have an offer from someone who has spares available. Don't reinvent the wheel.
