Correct orientation of the fan blades.

Hi all, I'm confused over the orientation or the fan blades on my BN4.
As I received the car the fan had two blades facing one way and two facing the other ?
Is this correct ? It had a water pump change at some time so could have been put back wrong...
Photo would be helpful...Thanks...Ian.

Thanks for the info. They were on wrong then..!
So when fitted correctly the 4 blades are not at 90 degrees to each other..seems odd !
Is this to gain access to something.?
I can see why they were put on wrongly.

The non-90 degree disposition makes them quieter.
I concur. You'll notice too that most well thought out fans, OE or aftermarket use an odd number of blades, sometimes staggered (not equidistant from each other).

As Steve states, all in the effort to reduce noise.

I can only imagine the efficiency of running a pair of blades facing opposite each other__was it moving much air at all, or canceling each pair out?

I wouldn't know about the fan effectiveness , I've never heard the car run..!
I bought it from Arizona nearly 2 years ago as a non runner. In fact I dont think it it has run for about 30 years.
I'm trying to do a full resto on it....I keep telling myself "it's a marathon not a sprint...!

Some photos, if they upload..!

It looks like you went to 60 spoke wheels. Make sure the spokes don't come in contact with the drums in the front. Rears clear, but some 60 spoke wheels will rub.

Yeah nice, But when he got it -it don't look like no AZ car probably came from Florida N got stuck in AZ??--LOL

Was imported to dealership in Seattle, Washington December 1958....where it went from there is anyone's guess.....
