Trying to get going on the front suspension reassembly later today and it occurred to me that I don't have any grease on hand. Is there a type that is correct that a local auto parts store will carry?

Thanks!

I used Dow Corning DC-4,

I think there is a stuff called "Miracle Lube", some sort of synthetic stuff, that will probably fill the bill as well,

and lot's of antisieze on the bolts.

Yup. Find a synth lube. I'd tend to stay away from petrol-based lubes for this.

You should use silicone-based synthetic water-proof grease. It's ususally white (the Mobil 1 version is pink).

~Here Is~ one supplier.

Google Prothane Super Grease

If you have a speed shop in your area, they should have it.

This is what I used on my poly bushings. It is unlike any other "grease" that I have ever used, it is almost sticky. I don't see this stuff ever coming off. Most grease you can wipe off metal with a rag, not this stuff or at least not very easy.

You can get it from Summit racing.

Most lithium "white grease" has a petrol based carrier and WILL lose its lubricity characteristics over time. It dries out and hardens. Stick with the synthetics/silicone based lubricants for the poly bushings.

That's where I'd be spendin' *my* shekels. :jester:
