Correct float level

I'm ready to install my rebuilt H4 carbs but I don't know the correct float level. These were options that I had installed at Donald Healey's dealership back in 1962. I don't recall ever knowing what the setting should be but they worked great when last used in 1973. Does anybody know what I should set the level to?

Which float/bowl configuration do you have, Nelson? Brass floats with holes in their center or lever type?

My floats are the brass variety with the hole in the center.

Okay! I went thru a set for a pal in Miami a year or so ago, I'll dig around here an' see if I can find th' settings. I used a tool specifically made to measure it.

5/16" diameter bar under the "tang" of the lid. Lid inverted and the arm just touching the needle valve... I'll scan and post some illustrations shortly.

EDIT: It occurrs to me I should e-mail you these as attachments, Nelson. PM me your e-mail addy.
