Correct Battery Size for 100-6?

Didn't see any past posts on this. Need to know what size battery to buy for my '59 100-6. I guess I need the Group size, right? Posts obviously should be on top.

Thanks,
Steve

I use an Optima (biggest that would fit).

At the opposite extreme, I used the smallest battery I could find.

Westco #12V31M. Sealed, absorbed glass mat type. Similar construction to the Optima. 33 AH capacity, 24 pounds. Starts a 9.7/1 compression ratio engine on the first spin.

If you absolutely have to have the most capacity, you can't go wrong with the Optima as Tracy did. Very reliable, can't spill or leak.

Hi Steve, along more conventional lines: Group size 24, Capacity 65 AH with a CCA specification between 750CCA and 1000. Battery type Lead Acid Sealed such as the Delco line.--Fwiw--Keoke
