Folks,

Does anyone have a suggestion for a manufacturer and paint code for the medium red fan color?

Thanks.
Ron

Hi Ron,

For my 1960 BT7, the closest match I could find was a "Safety Red" that I purchased at Tru Value hardware. Attached are photos of the paint can and of the painted fans.

I always thought the fans on the 3000’s were yellow. At least that‘s the way my original 1960 BT7 came from the factory and remains today. The fan shroud is painted that shade of red.

Rob,

Yellow fans were introduced near the end of the 1960 production year, and continued until the end of production in 1967.

At some point after the four-blade fans were switched to the yellow paint color, the factory offed a six-bladed yellow "desert fan" as a factory option. I assume dealers could have also switched cars to the six-blade yellow fan.
