Coolest Car Under $3000?

I've been looking for a replacement for the
rusty '68 Ford Cortina.
I've looked through craigslist/eBay,& have been-
tempted.I don't want to get burned.
Is there a cool/affordable vehicle in that range
that you'd buy,or would be willing to give honest supp-
ort to me buying?
Where's Jack in NM,when you need him?

Use the $$ to finish one of your other projects (like the GT) then decide the fate of the cortina.
