Hi Ray,
I bought it at Big B Auto. They have an Ebay store. Do a search for “tank”. The buying process is not your standard ebay transaction. Read their instructions if you buy. I just called them. Here is their website: www.bigbauto.com . The tank has 2 ¼”ID tubes coming out of the bottom. One goes to the radiator, the other is a vent/overflow. I bought some 5/16” stainless tube from a hobby store to braze onto the radiator feed. I’ll post a picture of it when it’s done.

That was the smallest tank of that type. On the “Overflow Reservoir” thread Dave R. recommends 1.5 to 2 quart tank. This one is about 1.25 quarts. It’s funny that Tahoe Healey was posting his thread while I was writing mine. Had I only waited… I brazed the pipe yesterday and polished the bracket. I decided to put a 180 in the pipe so the hose wouldn’t kink. Ran the hose up the interior of the bracket so it’s out of the way. See attached.

I am getting ready to buy a coolant recovery tank. I found one that looks like GregW's from Watson street works for $70.00. I remembered that you had posted a picture of yours that looked good. Would you mind reposting that picture if you still have it as your original attachment seems to have been accidently flushed into the " bit bucket " of the forum. Also, what capacity is yours ? Thanks, Ed
 
Early Spridgets used a brass tank (later ones were plastic) that was also used on LandRovers and Sherpa vans. Mine was 99p from ebay ;-)

Thanks Dave . I see that you mounted it back a little from the shroud support in order to give clearance for your alternator. I have been searching and looking at products all morning, trying to decide. Also trying to decide if I should mount a long skinny one right next to the radiator support or use a remote tank like yours. I also need to look into what is available for spridgets and other LBC applications. I know if I could find one it would certainly look like it belonged in the car... Back to search and reading. I originally mounted it on the vertical shroud support. When I added the alternator, the tank had to be moved back to clear. Functionally, the hose length doesn't matter much. I DID replace the clear hose with black, once I was sure that things were working. There are many tanks & ways of connecting them that will work. It's what ever suits your taste. I like the sight tube on the side of this tank. Of course you could use a cheap see through plastic tank.

I have similar tastes because like you, I found and bought one of those clear plastic jobs and installed it. As soon as I was done and stepped back to look at it, I knew I had made a mistake. I also like the idea of the sight tube to check the level without opening the cap and shinning a flashlight down the opening just to check the level. Perhaps If I can find a metal LBC recovery can, I will give it a try, otherwise I will spend the money to get an aluminum or stainless recovery can. Hopefully with a sight tube or else I will make one for it.
 
Heartily recommend Tree Top Apple Juice or Welch's Grape Juice, clear plastic container 2qt. that can be mounted horiz or vert here or there with a tie wrap or two. Just poke a hole for tube to go in (sloppy fit serves as vent). Cost a couple of bucks, clear plastic for easy monitoring, and last but not least you get 2qts of juice along with it. Functionality is its own aesthetic.

I wonder if he has applied for a patent, looks like public disclosure to me, I see an IPO on the horizon
