COOL!

pretty nice looking car too.

Mickey,

I had 2 of those at one time -
both needed total restoration.The style
really grows on you,& you can put a family
of 5 in the trunk!
The 1340cc engine was a bigger version
of the Anglia 997cc engine,& had a hollow crank.
With 3 main bearings, most of them didn't hold up
well to US speed limits.
They were also about $2500 - (in 1962).

Yeah, I was kinda thinkin' Corvair front end, P1800 roofline, and Mercury Meteor tail lights/fins!

Nice looking, though...

Oh Steve.....

My thoughts exactly, Alan.

But he asked me to quit sending him "projects".

(It would be a nice one for him, though, wouldn't it?)

Lotus TwinCam candidate! :jester:

A neighbour had one, back in England, just after the missus & I got married - so 1964 / 65 time. The platform, from what I remember, was pretty much the same as the Mk1 Cortina, and lots of bits were interchangeable.
It was really not a bad car at all, but wasn't popular.
Does anyone remember that the firsr Cortinas were badged "Consul Cortina"?

Mechanicly the same as a MKI Cortina -
- except the front struts (w/disc brakes).
You could bolt those struts up to a '60+ Anglia.

Looks like GVW would be more than a Mk-I, but a breathed on T/C would push it along nicely, I imagine.

I have one in the back yard and my buddy has two of these, one restored, running and driving with the 1500 engine in it. Nice little drivers!

If I had a digital camera that worked I'd post a few pics.....Ah well, next time.

Yeah - that's him.I told him about one of
his cars (it was Red)up out of Medford,Oregon.
It was $1000,& all of the trim was there (the horn-
- ring is almost always broken/missing).

Doug seems to know where about EVERY EnFo of any note is, and who owns it! :jester:
