Is that Mustang kicking butt or what?

is that for real?!?!?!?!
Wow! The Mustang musta been "Hammer down" whilst the Jets were just above stall.
That's an incredible shot.

I'm not the best with jets.
F-22,F-18,and F-16?

Yeah, just look at the difference in angle of attack between the '51 and the jets.

Jeff- You sure about the F-15. Weren't they all grounded?

Wow, it's very impressive. Kinda like driving your
TR6 right next to a Lexus or better yet, one of my
favorites, a Dodge Viper.

Brings to mind a story. Jumped on the gas pedal on
the TR one evening coming home from Fresno right off
one of these red lights that turns green to allow cars
to enter the freeway...(got 'em in California to make
the traffic merge better) and didn't know there was a
new(er) Dodge Viper right behind me. So I wound her
up to about 5,000 rpm in every gear. Top down...middle
lane...
Suddenly I hear the sound of what I thought was a jet
on my left rear side somewhere around my blind spot;
then I saw her. A beautiful, new Dodge Viper. We must
have been right about 100 mph at that point. She pulled
along side; paused for a moment to look over at me....
and then he tromped on it and I watched his tailights
dim in the night. It was a rush to hear, feel and see.
Such antics are rare by me, but have been known to happen.
Errr, maybe that's why I gotta rebuild my engine, ya think?

Did that in a built 73 Capri back in the mid 70's. Instead of a Viper it was a Ferrari. Never did get away from me. At 120 we both decided better sense needs to take over and we back off. He gave me the thumbs up and he took an exit. Still puts a smile to my face today

Yup, positive about the F-15. That particular one is from the 1st Fighter Wing, based at Langley AFB, Va.
The 15's were just recently grounded. That picture is from last summers show at Nellis.
The 22 is from Nellis, and the 16 is out of Hill AFB, Utah.

Right you are, Jeff!

The pic was shot digitally at pretty high speed, note the prop on the Mustang.

While visiting my brother-in-law last year out in Medford, OR, he took me to a local airport to view some of his toys at one of his hangers (forgot if we were in southern OR or northern CA). No, I'm not jealous. Anyway, I spotted a large open hanger down the path that belonged to the original developer of Qualcomm (he sold it). Inside were some of his big boy toys. A fully restored and flyable P51 Mustang and a 67 full race 427 Cobra. Now I am jealous.

All grounded? I thought the ANG got 'em. I'm sooo outta th' loop.

One had catastrophic structural failure in flight two or three weeks ago. The driver got out with a broken arm, but they were all on the ground the last I knew.

No wonder. Thought it was very recent.
They removed the grounding for a day then redid it again.

No- the F15C models and earlier are grounded but the E models are still flying. Some of the special earlier models are still flying as well if they have unique jobs to do.
