Cool morning coffee run in the Bugeye

I'm working from home today, so I took the opportunity to get the Cheshire Frog on the road.

I ran down to the local coffee stand, just a couple of miles away from the house and the car ran beautifully.

We all know how fun these cars are to drive, but the human interaction that occurs as part of the experience is also a lot of fun. In addition to the thumbs up on the road, as I pulled through the drive-through, all the young women working at the coffee shop seemed to drop everything to come for a look. The big, shiny smiling face works as well as a puppy! Shhhh, don't tell my wife! hehehe!

But seriously, it was a short run in beautiful 60 degree sunshine and the car ran like a champ. Paradise.

Bill, I know exactly what you mean. I live in a college town and with UVA classes starting this week, about 20,000 or so students are piling into town.

Sunday I drove over to a local coffee shop that's near UVA and my house to grab a cup for my morning drive. The place was crawling with pretty young college girls. Luckily, I found a parking spot right in front where about 15 people were seated, drinking coffee and chatting outside the shop. When I drove up in my shiny Midget, I got a lot of smiling looks, especially from the girls!

At my age, I savor this kind of attention. The last time a buncha college girls looked smilingly my way was . . . well, a loooong time ago. :cryin:

Ha! I wrote something very close to this line in my original draft of the message!

Someone get to writing about "The LBC and the Biological Imperative." There are grants out there!
