Don't know what the reserve is but this would could be a pretty easy project to a cool MK1 with some nice upgrades.
Ebay

The car was posted in the SF Craigslist and sold lickety split! The asking price was $2400.00, don't know what the transactional price was though. In any event it would be a very cool addition for someone...wish I had the room and $$$ for it but just don't at the moment.

That's a neat looking little car. Wish I has space...

From whence comes the chrome strip on the hood?
Is this the correct rib case?
Where is the heater hiding?
Oh, good, oil leak from rear main marks it as a real LBC..
I know. PICKY, PICKY, PICKY. But not much rust visible, and it does look like a good canidate or just drive it. Love the RHD.

The chrome strip on the hood is standard on a MK1 and MK2 Midgets. So is the ribbed case on most later ones.
See.
Heater was optional on MK1's. Door handles weren't

Chrome strip, right. I was rembering my Sprite.

Yes, the Sprite was the nudist twin sister. They were undressed.

Oddly, Midgets were $500 more when new, than the Sprites, thanx, in part to all that extra chrome. But the last time I saw a comparative listing, Sprites are now worth $500 more. [for the same year car, throughout the production run]

Also .. there's a guy up in Vancouver BC, with a car that has BOTH the chrome strip AND the Austin Healey flying wing hood emblem......

Anyone else seen THAT combo? I checked his VIN and it IS a Healey

I suppose the chrome strip on a Sprite is possible, they were made on twin lines right next to each other and one could have slipped through. It's also possible a prior owner liked the look and put a strip from a Midget on the hood.

As far as value goes, I took a sample listing from the NADA classic sports car listing with the following results.
These are published book values determined by NADA, obviously not what they are actually going for as we all know. My insurance company did use the book when placing a value on my car incidently.

1963 Sprite MK2

Low Average High
4150 7150 12,500

1963 Midget MK1

Low Average High
5150 8800 15,800

The Midget averages a premium over the Sprite over the run.

The book says these prices range for good to excellent condition cars, both originals or properly restored examples.
A number 1 car is not priced, but would carry a significant premium over the high retail price. It would not be driven, be trailered to shows and kept in a climate controlled museum or building (NOT BY ME THOUGH!!!) :driving:.
