in short
I have a 72 engine with a two post tach form a 74 or something

how do I connect up the coil I have found three ways to cook points

steve

ok the white gose to the plus on the coil
neg gose to the points or burnt plastic charcoal
and the other wire gose ...Where

Must be the other side of the coil?????????

When you say 2 post tach, 2 bullet posts coming out the back?
The 74 tach was a single wire that hooked to the neg side of the coil, the earlier tachs with 2 bullets hooked to the pos side of the coil.
White wire from ignition switch to tach, from tach to + on coil.

yes a male and female I thought it was a 74 tach but I could be wrong
I had it connected up to the coil but correctly but my friend pulled it off and I cant memeber the combination on this one

so one wire from the neg to the distributer points

then the two wires a white and a white black to the positeve?

cheery
steve
