Yesterday was a gorgeous day here in New Jersey.

So I drove down to my old Dad's place and took him for a ride to the shore.

Five hours of driving for me, so lots of time to spot cars and saw a lot of top-down driving..

We took my '09 Express cargo van. I bring a short step ladder so he can get in. He's a fragile 87 and can barely get in and out of the Miata so that's not an option. The MGB doesn't have a/c which he might need if we sit in traffic.

We saw endless motorcycles along the way. And Chrysler Sebrings sans tops.

Saw lots of open Miatas. Also some last-generation MR2s (where have they all gone?)

Several SAABs soft tops. Even a Corvette top down (a rare sight here).

We saw at least eight Porsche 911 Cabriolets top down (mostly 991s). A lot of them had their door windows up which always looks funny to me (there's a topic on "Spridgets" about this right now).

Two Ferrari Spiders top down.

An Audi R8 Spyder (the thing with the V10), top down.

An Elise. Several new Mini convertibles.

For some reason we see many new-ish Bentley convertibles in our area all the time (there's a dealer not too far away). I saw two of them in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot last week. Saw several yesterday.

An open XK-140 (but that as in a shop window). And my own cars when I got home.:friendly_wink:

Nice - and even nicer to have spent the time with your dad. Last weekend would have been my father's 91st birthday.
