Convertible Top Wood Strip Set Covering

The Convertible Top Wood Strip Set for the BJ7 & 8 is covered with a thin white vinyl that is attached with spray adhesive. Mine needs replacing as it is very discolored (very yellowish) and worn. My question is the original suppose to be a white white, off white, a creme color, or what. Moss and VB do not seem to carry a replacement. I don't care if it is a perfect match but I would like to get close with the color shade. Thanks.

Hi Shorn, it is a hard color to describe. But a creame comes as close to it as any.

I had that problem until I ran across a dicarded Italian sofa the material was spot on so I cut the back out of it and used it to recover,---Keoke

Just cuz it’s at your Mother-in Laws doesn’t mean it’s discarded.

I'd call it a cream color too. BCS carries it (or they did a couple years ago). It was expensive for 2 yards of it but I didn't have to run around looking for it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Thanks, I gave BCS a call. Yes, it is expensive for very little material, about $35 for 24 X 56 inches. That's about $5 at the fabric store, but the fabric stores probably don't have the right type of thin vinyl or color, so I guess I just order some from BCS.

You could also give Heritage a call or that upholstry guy (company name, Pheonix?) that used to work for Heritage that has been on the forum. Since these guys do installations they probably have the right material.

edit .. did a quick search and found this info:

It's Phoenix Upholstery, his name is Dave Gallagher, and his shop is 604 913 1380, his cell is 778 838 4527

Yeah .. I was ordering a bunch of small, hard to find stuff and added the vinyl to the order. I made the mistake of not asking the price. I mean how much could it be? With shipping and restocking fees it wasn't worth sending it back. Plus all the sofas on the streets round here were velvet maroon color. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Yeah John, that figures but what do you expect out of them cheap neighborhoods.--Keoke--- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Thanks everyone and especially Dave at Phoenix Upholstery. Dave has what I need and has made arrangements to mail me the material. Great to have Dave as a Forum member. My next big project will be to get new leather seats. Dave will be my first and only call.
