I have the worst results searching various topics! My top is original and is a tight fit. I have adjusted the catches to the point where they are extreamly hard to attach to the windshield and there is still an air gap directly above the mirror. Any ideas?
 
Yep my Idea is that the old top has shrunk severely, perhaps a top shop using steam or other form of heat can relieve it some but more than likely it will tighten up again . When they get old like this replacement is the most likely answer.--Keoke
 
Mine is like yours. Put it in the sun to close easier. I store it with the top up in winter to keep it stretched. I have the leak above the mirror too. I believe the wood has warpped. I have tried stickie backed door foam on the top and it helps some. Doesn't last a year. I keep tape in the car incase I get cought in the rain. If you are going to Jackson next weekend there may be so rain. Bet you didn't know about all the uses of duct tape till you moved to the mountains.
 
A WORD OF CAUTION. If your top material has shrunk, and most vinyl will shrink as it ages, be careful when tightening the clamps down. It is possible to actually crack your windscreen if too much torque is applied. It is best to loosen the clamp hooks considerably, then gradually tighten them going from one side to the other and back. Don't ask me how I know this.
Is a new top the answer? I went to the Sun-Fast canvas top by Robbins, offered through Moss. I love it. It looks much better and does not shrink like vinyl.
 
I believe that the bad fit came free with the car when new, of course it probably gets worse with age.

Some, like mine, leak as soon as it starts raining, especially if parked up, but eases off with speed. I think that it is by-passing the cover fixing details on the wooden bow. New seaqls helped but I still have problems.

I did have a 100/6 that I put a new hood on and it was perfect, I am still in the investigation stage.
