hi everyone
My how busy one can get what with kids and grandchildren. Also so many other things that must be done seem to leave little time for working on the cars.
I just thought I would let you know I'm still at it.After a great start the the 62 came to a standstill but now we are back at it.The 302 with the T5 is installed.I don't need to worry about starting as I ran it a full 10 minutes on my stand.OH how sweet but loud with out any pipes.I'm making the full shroud now and just have to tranfer the templates to metal. The mustang spindles on the sunbeam front end was an easy conversion and give about 43% more braking.
Winter is coming;it came yesterday dammit: so I will have more time to work on the car.I think I will rewire as well as few updates.
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gifAll that sun may have made me a bit delusional as I thought I would be driving the 62 this year.

Re mustang spindles
No there is no plans out there that I know of.The beauty of this conversion is you use the sunbeam ball joints .There is plenty of meat on the spindles. The sunbeam ball joints shafts are larger than the mustangs so a machine shop can easily bore them out.I reversed the mounting of the tie rod ends to be more in line with the Mustang rack.there was still enough meat to do this as well.Onlt thing was that there was a minute depression from the old hole. This is so small in no way will it compromise the safety of the steering arm.The rack was moved back quite a bit. This still requires a slight bend in the tie rod arms but not as much as the tiger. The mustang spindles will slightly decrease the front track by about 1 inch.although the spindles are wider this is off set by the mustang hub and rotor which is noticeably narrower than the sunbeams
As to the ackerman problem I believe this will not be too noticeable.I hope this helps.I did redesign the front end on the Lister. There is basically only a modified crossmember left form the sunbeam but that is another story.
Disclaimer. This relates to what I have done only and not what anyone may do with this information

I forgot to add that the spindles should be able to install in the reverse position as the mustang spindle has front steering.I did install one side to see if it was possible to do the Alpine. There might be a touch of grinding for clearance. The caliper would then be front mounted position.
Anyone can email me for more information.
