Contiuned problems with new BJ8 wire harness-HELP

Hey all,
Well, think this is really the final update with a question. There is a
black wire coming out of the main harness about where everything hooks up
to the fuse box and O/D relay unit. I want to double check that it should
be hooked up to the W1 post on the O/D relay unit. I know that is what it
shows in the wiring diagram but after installing everything, I THINK I
connected it to the wrong post, the C1 or C2 and when I went to start the
car up, I had flames coming from the wiring there !!!!! Fortunately I
noticed this quickly - pretty hard not to with smoke coming from the engine -
and only damage was a couple of burned wires which I replaced. As I
obviously connected it wrong but cannot now know how I did it, paranoia
is high for connecting that black wire again. Based on the location I don't
see where else it could go but strangely enough, the OD works without the
black ground wire hooked up. Anyway, this wiring genus is asking for your
help one final time on this subject.
Many thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Here is how mine was wired up where it produced no smoke.

Thanks Greg, that's the W1 post and all I can guess at this stage is I simply
had the others connected wrong the first time.
Regards,
Mike

W1, W2 = "windings" the elctro-magnet part that pulls the contacts (C1 & C2) together.

So yes, the W terminals require a ground and a hot source to actuate.
