Congratulations Canada!

You beat me to it Bas. Congrats indeed. We'll done Canada!

So that must mean they beat us the other night

No don, the Canadians beat everybody.

Haven't watched at all, can't handle the minutia stories and the minimal amount of real events

But think of all the commercials and talking heads you missed. I didn't watch much but "be back right after this" is permanently emblazoned in my head.

My wife is a big skating fan so we watch "On Demand" the short program
They didn't even show the #2 Russian skater
Even the OD sucks

JP has been quiet; he's probably whooping it up at Tim Horton's right now... just saying.

I've watched most all of the Olympics as I'm sitting here with my foot in the air after planned surgery. Hockey has been some of the the best, had hopes for US but Canada is really good. I thought coverage was better than previous years, more content of events and less "up close and personal" stuff. I enjoyed viewing the hockey almost as much as listening to the play by play with Al Michaels, how does he keep up, keep names straight, follow the action and verbalize it all while interjecting his own commentary. He's good.
Now I'm stuck with watching the Daytona 500. Go fast, turn left and don't hit stuff.

Yes, congrats to Canuckville! Well played!

Wait until JP gets the bill for those "jelly donuts all around!" at Hortons. :highly_amused:

Is that last part a new rule? :friendly_wink:

(and hope you heal well!)

Mmmmm donuts. Thanks for the good wishes because after all, I had so much to do with it. I am actually not a big hockey fan (read not at all) but it was a good game. A bit more of a blowout than I would have liked (not unlike the superbowl). Actually I would have loved to see Finland and Sweden play for the gold - just because.

Of course, while I was watching the game there wasn't a whole lot of celebrating as I had err other duties this morning.

All said, in many ways I enjoy the winter Olympics more than the summer mostly because it seems to me at least that smaller countries - like Canada, but even more like Finland and Norway etc. etc. get a shot, whereas the summer olympics often seem dominated by one or two very large countries - of which the USA is only one.
