My oil pressure gauge reads 50 pounds at idle, but the oil pressure warning light (top of the dash in between the tach and speedo, ofset to the left) is on all the time, even under throttle. Any ideas what's going on here?

Assuming the gauge needle is actually moving up and down with revs (as opposed to just being stuck at 50psi) it's most likely what LastDeadLast said, bad sending unit for the idiot light.

PC.

I'll check that if it comes back on, but for now it's gone. I think it might have been that I overfilled on oil just slightly and it needed to burn some off, which it did. Once it stopped smoking the light went back out.

Hey Webb, just keep a close eye on the oil pressure man. Hows your 6 running anyway? You enjoying the heck out of it?
