As I was driving my Midget yesterday I was thinking about all the little things on it that I should fix, but choose to ignore because I'd rather "put up with it" than fix it.

I'll start ...
1. my exhaust header sometimes rattles against the frame rail
2. my windows are stiff to roll up/down (tracks need cleaning / greasing)
3. rear pinion seal leaks a bit.
4. The carpet on the frame rail needs to be re-glued.

and there's more, but I'm ashamed to go on. ;)

anybody else have spridget issues that they choose to ignore rather than fix?
 
I didn't know that Spridgets ever had issues:smile:
 
I choose to ignore painting a new DS Rocker that was left in factory primer for 4-5 years. I was cheap and lazy and drove Bugsy ugly. By the time I got around to doing a paint job, a spot on the very front edge had rusted completely through. Again I was happy to drive ugly than work on the car. Now a little repair work with the welder will get it fixed but I sure did enjoy those years of driving ugly.
 
My orange car is perfect! Absolutely nothing to fix (just don't look at it!!! )

My rattle can paint job met the end of it's one year life expectancy about a year and a half ago.
The front has a lot of specks where it's hit little pebbles or whatever on the freeways.
The top of the bonnet has a place where the paint peeled and there's surface rust that I'd better get on before it goes all the way through.
There's a small hole developing in the front footwell near where the drain hole is, it's cracked there and probably not getting smaller as I drive it.
My carbs run rich all the time, because I need to take them apart and replace some O rings.
The rear "chrome" strip behind the drivers side wheel fell off.
There's a few other cracks in the floors that I'm ignoring as well.

Feel better yet?

As Bugsy's designated younger brother, i.e. BE w a BRG Rustoleum Paint Job, don't feel bad about the paint job. It looks great from here. And if you had spent $2k to get it painted just think how bad you'd feel about all of those paint chips and rust that had suddenly appeared. See you feel better already. Hey at least you got to drive your Spridget last week. Bugsy went to Rhode Island 2 weeks ago and Bugsy 2 is 2 weeks away from pickup and I know I'm at least a year or two away from getting to drive Bugsy II based on the schedule I'm on and the "Honey Do" remodeling projects I've got at home and at the cottage. See didn't I make you feel better.

I just heard NOAA released the long term forecast for April thru June. Temps forecast to be above normal for MidWest to East. Colder in PNW. We'll see how right they are. Come on Spring. Expecting 4" of snow in Dayton on Sunday.
 
There was snow on my Bugeye bonnet this morning, sunny now though.

I have a laundry list on mine, and it grows every time I'm around it. Top replacement, seat cover replacement, interior panel replacement, build a new center console for knee comfort, deal with three rather large areas of paint problems, rack replacement, tie rod replacement, rebuild Datsun transmission, resolve areas where rain leaks in under dash, replace steering wheel for new unit, fit rocker panel badges. Yeah, just a few things.

One final piece for in interior (4-5 yrs ago)

Don't feel bad; something always breaks and jumps in front of importance of those items.
 
Great reasoning George. I think that is why I let those little things go ... more important fish to fry.
