Just got my copy of concurs standards for Bugeyes. I sure wish I would have had this before I restored my car. After reading this, I am not sure I have ever seen a Bugeye that even comes close to a true concurs car now. I admit I purposely changed some things like engine color (my wife wanted a medium blue engine to complement the iris blue body), and used satin black instead of gloss black for car parts (don't like the gloss look), but now I realize there are many things I unwittingly did that were not stock either. I guess on the positive side it is back on the road (thanks to many of you), and the things that are not correct are easily changed if someone decides they want to after my passing some day. Admittedly restoring my Bugeye has almost been an addiction for years. I wish I would have done a better job sticking to what was original, but as I work through my restoration withdrawals, I guess it is time to finally let things go and just enjoy the ride. Thanks for listening.
