Computers Prices

Had a few of the old machines. Still have the TI 99/4-A, got the cable to "interface" it with a cassette tape player for storage. First DOS machine was an Epson, no HD but it did have two 5¼" floppy drives. Would also boot to CP/M-80or GW-Basic. "DX-16" IIRC.

And, yeah, Zilog, not Zylog... "Bad or missing sector" on th' ol' organic HD I guess.

Been fiddling with an old Phoenix DOS based computer with a 600 meg hard drive. HD was so messed up I stripped it of all software and reformatted it. For some reason the MBR disappeared into cyberspace. No internet, no software other than DOS 5. Need to get the MBR back so it will boot. Trying to figure how to install it with no other programming in the computer. PJ

Our first computer was a Wang with an IBM motherboard and was complete with a dot matrix printer. Still have it, up in the attic. We thought we were slamming and working out of DOS was a snap. I can remember our google was Compuserve. Can't remember what it cost but do know it was a lot of dollars then. As I look behind me, husbands contribution to artwork, I spy several 5 1/4 X 5 1/4 floppys. Doug has also sorts of computer boards, mouses (mice), a couple of keyboards, etc. from old computers. Also have a Timex Sinclair, still in the attic as well. I think there are some of those 10" (?) floppies. Not sure of size but about the size for certain. My we sure have come a long way. I look at my IPhone, IPad, Desktop, IPod and say: Wouldn't Dick (Tracy) be impressed and the guy who talked into his shoe as well. You know who I mean, Get Smart I think was the name of the series. Okay, help me out here.

You don't need any help, Judy - "Get Smart" it was - Maxwell Smart.
