Computer Question...

On my normal computer screen (Windows XP), I have a line across the top for Google & another line for Yahoo....I just did some updates & suddenly I have a third line for MSN......now, if I use either the Yahoo or Google search engine, whatever I search for also pops up in the MSN search box...what's with that?

Does anybody else have this setup?

I try to keep the search tool bars to a minimum. They take up too much real estate on the screen. I have a friend that more than half the browser screen are tool bars. Makes reading the useful information hard. IMHO get rid of 'em all or leave one if you really use it that often.

Mine, F.F. Ver 1.9.0.3224. Only has the yahoo search bar and BTW I have upgraded to win Xp pro. I never think to use it though, I always open the browser itself.
I do have one issue though ... something wants me to have a different home page than I want. I have to clear cookies to get my original homepage back Grrrrrrrr.
And yea different vendors have tried installing their search bars on my browser occasionally, I have to keep chasing them off!
frustrating to say the least!

How do I get rid on the MSN bar? I've never used them...

Right click it see if there is a provision to hide/remove it. Try the view/toolbars see if you can untick it there
go to add remove programs see if it is listed there if so click remove.
If you didnt install it yourself and it suddenly appeared by itself it COULD be a BHO {Spyware} install if so you will need to run search and destroy to get rid of it.
Maybe someone else has a better idea or suggestion.

I DID IT! I just right clicked on it & unclicked it.

Welcome to "Web 2.0"... intrusively useless junk for the most part.
