My Toshiba 2595CDT recently started acting up. I could not get any brooser to work but I could get most of the favorites to come up. I could get my email without a problem. I did a spyware check and found 20 of them and deleted them. Now my computer (on wireless net work by the way) will not bring up either the internet or emails. I have tried to troubleshoot by using F8 on a restart and the computer hangs. I have transferred my email settings to a borrowed computer setting next to my Toshiba and I get everything without a hitch. Any ideas? I tried to down load the laters Explorer but it did not take so I'm running the old version until I can get the internet up and running. Please help if you can? Oh, I have an 80 gig HD.

First, stop using Internet Explorer. Download Firefox instead, which is a much more stable and secure browser. You can customize it to look and act any way you like, including like IE.
As for your current problems, I suspect you may have malware or spyware still on the system. Did you do an update before running your Ad Aware scan? Do you have anti-virus software, and do you keep it updated at least once per week?

Try dumping ALL of your Cookies and Temp internet files.
You may need to go in each of these individual folders to get em all. Then do a reboot, try I.E. again!
It is very likely malware has changed a sys {Or some sys files} on you, If this is the case, you will need to do a sys restore. {reload whatever Op Sys you are using.}
AND ....... I completely agree with Steve, QUIT using I.E.

Router is working fine - both the borrowed computer and my son's laptop are wireless and using the router. We recently changed from Adelphia to Comcast and had to reinstall the router software (per directions of Comcast) and everything there is ok. I have tried to reboot and use F8 to recover but the computer will not respond (hangs up). Any suggestions on getting around this and I use Firefox at work and will down load it to my computer when I can get to the internet. This computer has been a real workhorse for me, I really want it back so thanks for any help.

Not to mention that IE is used for your Windows Interface despite MS's attempt to make you think otherwise by calling it "Windows Explorer" when you look for files on your computer.
You CAN completely rid yourself of IE/Explorer by using 3rd party Windows Shells and File Managers(eg LiteStep, Explorer^2, etc). However, I highly recommend against attempting to do such things unless you're a very advanced PC user. Plus, you won't be able to do any Windows Updates like Steve_S mentions if you do completely remove IE/Explorer.
On the other hand, if you want to have a more robust way of interacting with your system files I highly recommend checking out Explorer^2. You can use this instead of the normal "Windows Explorer" to do your normal file editing, moving, and copying without removing any of the normal Windows 'features'.

I greatly dislike IE7....
I wish someone would teach the corporate jug-heads that that their sites should meet ~industry~ and International Standards Organization (ISO) standards, rather than only meeting the needs of MS web browsers... I don't care if the sites are Internal only or not.
It irks me that I have to use IE to do anything on our corporate employee pages.

yup. The 'net is still in infancy. It took 40 years for the telephone to become a tool able to be counted on to actually connect you to the party you were trying to reach... we tend to think of the 'net as having been fully formed by now. 'tain't so. Lots of 'growing pains' yet to overcome. The 'jug-heads' you spake of are contributing to those pains rather than alleviating them. Jerks.
