For some reason or another I cannot get into the forum on our main computer. I am on the kids right now. It comes up with "This is the PLESK default page." I typed in the URL and deleted the cookies for this site, but no luck. ?????? I am running XP pro. Any ideas? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

May be a spyware issue. Download Ad Aware. Run the program and click Update. Then run a full scan.

Re: Computer geeks unite and answer question, plea

That's generated at the server side... odd. If you couldn't access from any machine in the house I'd say your IP server hasn't picked up the NS (Name Server) change, but apparently that's not the case. Weird.

If malware found its way into his web browser(s) then it could easily redirect to another site.

Mickey (one of our moderators) having same problem. The fact that you are getting the Plesk Default page is because you are somehow going to the OLD server and not teh new one. (The domain britishcarforum was deleted from teh old forum. Are both computers using the same internet connection?

Basil

(I suspect a namesever issue in which the new IP address has not fully propagated, but very confusing why it would work on one system and not the other IF they are using the same internet connection. Try deleting ALL your temporary internet files.

I was ~assuming~ again... Never considered more'n one account per house. DUH!

...but still... they'd almost certainly access the same bunchof ser... Oh nevermind. It's a propagation issue. Gotta be.

Several others had reported the same issue which eventually cleared up. Lets hope this is the case (my guess is it will clear up)

yup-yup. NS acquisition. "This too shall pass."

Funny how we just "expect" all this Voodoo stuff to ~work~ instantly, huh?

Re: Computer geeks unite and answer question, plea

I'm on again. YAAAAH. It was strange how I could get on one machine and not the other. They both went down a little later, I was able to get on tonight. Thanks for the help fellow geeks (not just computer). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Computer geeks unite and answer question, plea

Still ~WEIRD~ there were two machines on the same "wire" and ONE could access the BS, the other didn't.

Just glad you're back!
