Completed push fuel pump installation

Here is the result of my push fuel pump installation using an SU AUF 301, ahead of the rear axle. I got the correct mounting bracket from a kind gentleman I met at the Euro Auto Fest in 2007, but I know a purist will tell me the AUF 301 was never fitted to any Spridget.

My excuse is that the transplanted 1275cc engine deleted the mechanical pump that was fitted to the original 948cc Bugeye engine, so something clearly had to be done. I had a Facet pump for a while, but it made me ill listening to it.

This one was overhauled by Dave Dubois and converted from positive earth to negative earth.

Looks like a nice clean installation. I've still got to figure this one out for my 1275 install.

What a joyful noise...

This morning I finished tidying everything up and switched on.

A wave of nostalgia washed over me as the measured ticking of an old-fashioned SU pump started up, and gradually slowed to a stop. Dave Dubois certainly knows his stuff.

NCBugeye started third pull, and now there is none of that agonized chattering of the Facet pump at traffic lights.

Bliss....

(sorry, got a bit carried away for a moment)
