TR5/TR250 Compatible Modern Tire Size

What is the consensus on the correct modern tire size for a TR250? I know I have seen 205/70R15 and 125/65R15 as a common size on the TR6, but the wire wheel for the TR6 is an inch wider that the wire wheel on the TR250. All 250/70R15 tires I have seen have a minimum wheel width of 5 inches, is 4.5" too narrow?

Check out the tirerack website.....they carry vredestein tires, which come in sizes that should suit your needs.

Have you considered changing to a "Minilite" style mag wheels...eg.15x6 with 195.65.15 tyres.
They are a much safer option. If a wire wheel collapses while driving at speed, you may be seriously injured or worse.

As you have wire wheels and tubes it would be be less of a problem as the tire bead is not so much of a seal I believe all tires have a range to fit most all rims maybe a rang of one two inches tight or wide. Madflyer
