While I was waiting for a nicer license plate from eBay, I polished the trunk lid. Left side with regular Johnson Paste Wax and the right with Turtle Car Wax (Carnauba Cleaner Wax Deep Shine & Long Lasting Protection - Clear Coat Safe):

Here's my new license plate and new top (with zip out rear window, ar! ar!)

But take a look at the shine on the boot lid, after a month out in the elements and a quick wash:

(The cans are there for reference only, I didn't apply new polish.)

Looks to me the Johnson Wax is the winner. Not only that but it is dirt cheap from Lowes or Home Depot. The Turtle Wax does have a nice smell, though :smile:
 
Well, I'll be, I've used Johnson's paste wax on lots of furniture, floors and gun's but never thought to try it on a car. The test will be how well it stands up to the element's.....I'll be waiting for the results!!

Sorry for the confusion, Nomad. The last 2 shots were taken after being left outside in the rain for a month after polishing. I just gave it a quick wash before I took the last photo.
 
Wow....I'm giving it a try! Took in the biggest car show in the area today and ran into a guy with a barn find Ford AA truck. He had just wire brushed the rusty parts and Johnson paste waxed the whole truck. Really looked great IMHO!
