Pretty amazing. But I didn't remember regular pit stops ever taking over a minute.
Considering the number of men on the 1950 pit crew and the technology they used, I am a little more impressed by that than by the 2013 crew.
Yes,I'm of that thought also Walter. Don't get me wrong, the crews today are lightning fast, they should be, three guys doing the work of one, constantly going to training school for timing, speed and efficiency! Always dressed like they just came from the cleaners. Years ago the win was placed on the driver, not much on the pit crew. When we were running modifieds on oval tracks, we had three guys to do all the pit work. Change engines, rears, transmissions between races. When we went to the races we were clean and shiny, when we came home after the races, we looked like we had been drug through a grease pit. :highly_amused: I was just a kid then and grew up around race cars. I built my first roll cage for a 39 Ford coupe at age 13 with a new Lincoln welder my dad bought me. Memories, love them!
