Commission plate

Offline
If your TR commission number is TS22312L, I have yr. original tag. It's been painted over, but the # is still readable. I found it in the field by my late bro's garage in MD, where there's still a bunch of TR parts. Or, if you have a stolen one, you could use it to "legally" register it for the road.

Er, you might want to be a bit more discreet ... you are offering to commit a federal crime after all.

And there have been several stories in the news lately about criminals being caught through Facebook posts and so on.

Right. OK, make that so you can register your race car replacing the one you took off to save weight? Or use it as an Objet d' Art in your sculpture garden.

Wifesmainwrench,
With my character, I considered your suggestions great, hilarious and clever...although your suggestions, as well as anyone advising to be discreet could in some legal circles be considered abetting, that is assisting or encouraging in the achievement of a purpose, according to Webster 7th. My friends. I enjoyed your post. No offense intended to anyone!

My 1957 Morgan 4/4 series 2 had it's serial number in chalk written on the floorboards (wood), #342. The WV DMV couldn't deal w/ that, so they issued me a screw-on plate w/ a bunch of numbers which they use for manufactured or home-built vehicles. Later I had a California Ford 3/4 ton pickup on which they could find no numbers of any kind, even in the "secret" places. I argued that since there were no conflicting numbers on the car, then the number on the title must be right. They said OK.
