Commission Number?

I've wondered for a long time how many cars survive that were build close to mine.
My TR6 is a '72, comm. #CC 81661U.
My TR3 is a '60, Comm. #TS 70295L.

What's your #?

I've wondered the same thing and always watch other posts for similar numbers. Here's mine...

'73 TR6, CF8584UO

And here's mine:

60 TR3A 65750, eng # 65973.

There's a pretty good registry site where you can look up numbers:

TR Registry

A quick look indicates that "TeeYah" is still listing Kansas as its home..

Randy

Yeah, it still lists me as the owner of TS22312L even though I told him that I sold it.

Thanks Randy. Found one within 150 on the 6 and inside 1000 on the 3. The closest number was a lower number that is registered as a '61.

Actually, I conversed with a guy a couple of years ago who was the original owner of a TR4 1 number off mine - I think we connected numbers via the team.net emails. Sadly both of our cars were not quite ready for a reunion, but it was interesting to compare notes.

Randy

Thanks for pointing out my registration still shows the previous owner. I hadn't looked at that in at least six months.

I've emailed the site owner several times in the past, about making the change, but never seem to get a response. I'll try again today.

A friend of mine own two 3's that were consecutive numbers. Unfortunately, neither will ever see the road again.

I've got two Heralds that are almost as close: Y13342L and Y13345L. Both were originally built with the same paint and trim colors, and the body numbers are only 2 apart (YC4089 and YC4091).

My Mayflower, TT22461LDL, is only four higher than what's left of one that resides about 80 miles south of me. And I used to have a parts car, TT24261LDL (two digits transposed), as well.

I have a very curious engine number on the stamped tab.

CC 4195 E

At some time in the distant past, someone on the forum
informed me this number represents a TR250 engine. Now
it appears this number is NOT a TR250.

Anyone have an idea what a CC with only four digits might
represent? It is a 6 cylinder and all the TR6/250 components
I have purchased fit properly.

curious as always.

May have been a restamp of a new unnumbered block with a digit missing. According to info I have CC series started at # 25001 thru to CC 85737 at end of 1972 with either E or UE at the end. UE being export E being home market.
Cf series started in 1973,

Why do you think there should be an 'H' ? Usually, that would mean a high-compression variant, and the TR250 would have been lower, not higher compression. I don't see it mentioned on the above site, either.

Not sure why Tinster thinks his number is not a TR250 either. Generally those numbers never had leading zeroes, so 4 digits would only mean it was before number 10,000 in the series.

The owner of a red 1958 TR3A has a Comm. No. about 25 after mine. He is the person who put on the TRA even in up-state NY last June.

Thanks Andy,

So it looks like my CC 4195 E block is in fact from a TR250
and my tranny # CT ....is from a TR4A and my firewall
# 28965 CC is from a 1969 TR6. My seats from a 1971 TR6.

I should rename my car "Joseph" with the coat of many colors.
Or numbers in my case.

I wish I knew the history of my car. There's gotta be a good
tory there somewhere, prior to it being Pedro-ized.

Funny you should say that! I have a Herald sedan that I nicknamed "Joseph" many years ago. It's an eternally continuing (well, eternally on hold would be more accurate) project that currently sports various body panels in at least four different colors! The poor car appears to have had a very difficult early life. But then, it's life with me since 1970 hasn't been very easy. I originally bought it for parts, but the recipient car went away, and "Joseph" still exists, to be restored back to its original "Personal Export Delivery" splendor someday.
