TR4/4A Commision number

I started disassembling my TR4 some time ago & took off two plates in the engine bay. My wife put them in a safe place & now I can't find them.:grumpy: The numbers are CT12815L, and 12721CT. One I believe is the commission number. What is the other number. Thanks for help as always. Alan
 
CT12815L is the commission number. It is on a rectangular aluminum / black plate mounted next to the clutch and brake master cylinders on the drivers side. 12721 CT is the body number located on the passenger side near the voltage regulator It is an aluminum plate about 1/2" by 3". The plate with the commission number also has the paint number and trim number.
 
Here's where that chassis tag is on mine (the plain aluminum one, the green is an STC tag which your car may or may not have had):

My original commission plate looked like this -- thanks to Standard/Triumph's decision to place them near the hydraulics on LHD cars:

Replacements are available for these and can be fairly well fashioned using an inexpensive set of 1/8" stamps. Practice on a Coke can, set up a jig to manage spacing, use rivets to affix, ask if you need to know more.

connected to ?

If I remember correctly, those were originally for the radio speaker. When I restored my TR4A back in the early 80s I used the holes to suspend a metal plate to which I mounted a small amp.

Yes, radio speaker. Most TR4s radio installations used this unit for the single speaker, hanging from those 2 bolts above the passenger footwell:

Ahh, I always wondered what those holes were for!
