Looks like from wikipedia some commers were badged as hillmans - so I suspect it could maybe be - though with a Commer name plate it seems like chosing Commer is the way to go

Commer Light Pick-up

Commer Light Pick-up
The Commer Light Pick-Up was a pickup truck based on the Hillman Minx saloon and produced by Commer during the 1950s;[20] a similar Hillman-badged model was also produced.[21] The Mark III was powered by a 1,184 cc (72.3 cu in) four-cylinder engine, the Mark VI by a 1,265 cc (77.2 cu in) unit and the Mark VIII by a 1,390 cc (85 cu in) engine.[20] Production ended in about 1958.[20]

Thanks I have that info but still don’t tell me what year and model but thanks for the info cheers

Rootes Groups sold Hillman and Commer back in those days, and other brand names too...

Commer was the name they used for their trucks, some of them were heavier duty and not at all related to any cars

And (as has already been mentioned) some Commer light duty trucks were based on the Hillman Minx, so would likely be referred to as Commer but it would be an easy assumption for the previous owner to call it Hillman

Technically, I suspect your Hillman is a Commer

Anyway... Do you plan to restore it?

Thanks for the info. It doesn’t have a power train. So I am thinking to restore it ,it might be a long project. As I am told there isn’t many around. As of now. Just trying to get right year and model to at least get registered in my province. Thanks again cheers fixer

talked to the last owner as far as he knows the pickup was last registered in alberta. so if anyone has any info or may have seen it there please let me know.. thanks in advance cheers fixer

I can mention this in a local group, here in Alberta where I live

Might be worth trying to talk to Ian Cox - he seems to have his finger on the pulse of many of these vehicles

My two cents
The first number you show MPFE001072 ? is most likely a body production number, not used for the vehicle identification or registration certificate.
The second number you show 441104 LPX is both the engine number and vehicle identification number. This is the number that should be on the registration certificate... when acquired.
Having the name Commer on the plate does not imply the vehicle's identification. They were all made in the Rootes factory and badged for the market where they were to be sold.
As far as I know, BMIHT doesn't have records for Rootes group vehicles,

(No guarantees on this information being 100% correct. It's just what I have come across in my workings with Rootes vehicles.)
