Comes a time in every young man's life that...

He feels compelled to challenge his old man to a wrestling match. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

Well it all started innocently enough – when he said something about how slow I was & how I could never catch him. I agreed but added that that if for whatever reason he found himself in a situation where I was chasing him – he’d better keep running because I tie his scrawny little behind in a knot if I got my hands on him.

Well egged on by a couple of his friends – one thing led to another and we stepped out onto the front lawn. Again all in good fun and the only rules where nobody could hit or kick & the first one to pin the other with both shoulder blades flat on the deck wins.

To set this up:
I’m 5’11” & probably weigh about 160-165lbs.
Matt is 6’ even and probably 140-145lbs.

Facing off - without going into details, lets just say the poor kid had totally underestimated his old man and a few short moments later we where all back inside laughing about it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Good time to discuss the benefits of Marine training!!

Actually Tony, my Son asked it that was from my Marine training. But the truth is in those days hand to hand wasn’t in the Boot Camp curriculum, so most’ve it came from high School wrestling and being a paper boy in Inglewood CA - living just off of Century Blvd & Prairie Ave across from Hollywood Park. I was what you might call a minority back then in that neighborhood.

But all I told my son - is "F'n A skippy! Winked & gave'em a "OOH-RAW Marine Corps!" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

My son did the same thing to me once, and was shocked that I "Shamu'd" him in 3 seconds flat. I told him that was his chance and he blew it, because by the time he REALLY could beat me I would be so old it would be like beating up his Grandpa.
