Color of Hood Prop Rod

What is the correct color of the hood prop rod for a 1967 BJ8. The car is BRG and so is the prop rod. I have seen some cars with a black prop rod.

HI 777Jag, the prop rods are painted Black.--Fwiw-Keoke

Thanks Keoke, my resto guy thought it was BRG. I'm concerned about what else he's painting. The rod attaches to the hood with a spring and a bracket. Are they BRG or black. I'm hoping to take my ride to the Greenwich (Conn) Concours and thought I would spruce it up a little.

Thanks for help

----Don't Know nuthin bout no spring!. The prop rod is attached to the hood bracket using a rubber grommet with a flat washer on the outside and a small Split pin locks it in place??---Keoke

The hood bracket is painted body color and the prop rod is still Black,so is the grommet.---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When I bought my BJ8, the PO had the hood and trunk props both painted the body color when the should have been black. It's an easy fix, but it's one of those things that is a dead giveaway of a restoration by someone who doesn't know Healeys.

My 2 cents, I would guess Gloss from what I know of the other cars. Only a guess though.

definitely gloss. I know because I painted mine flat, and I always get it wrong. Seriously, it's gloss.
