I have a cold air inlet duct for my 56 100 and the flap operator is on the underside which means the cable would have to go over the top to connect this is a used item i bought
so i do not know if this is original help would be appreciated

For a LHD car the operating lever for the cold air valve should be on the top of the valve. Is your car LHD? Maybe you got a valve from a RDH car (not sure if they're different)or a different car altogether? The valve is not easily disassembled so what you have probably cannot be made right.

British Car Specialists sells new ones for about $185.

You get the same valve in head for healeys in england for 70 pounds including shipping to the uS. This is around 110 dollars, versus 185 !!
