Coincidence?

Ten weeks ago I bought my first collector car, a 1964 MGB. I put it in the garage alongside my daily driver, a 2003 Mazda Miata. Now my Miata is dripping oil. Coincidence? I think not. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

Weeping from jealousy perhaps?

It's contageous! You're lucky you didn't park my Daimler next to it!

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif I like it!

I see that happens all the time. Just like children when a new sibling is brought into the picture - your new acquisition has turned your daily driver into a “bed wetter” in a subconscious attempt for your attention. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

It's just marking its territory to let the new guy know where his part of the garage is :G.

Dave, I like that one /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

The cars that leak the most from the factory are worth the most as collectors. Congratulations, your Miata is now worth far more than it was ten weeks ago!

I put the car covers on both of them so they can't see each other.

Gotta get in to the Miata and see what's going on. Possibly one of my fittings on my oil filter relocation kit is leaking. It has been on there since 2003 with no problems.

More on this love triangle as the situation develops!

Definitely leaking from where the adaptor for the oil filter relocation kit contacts the engine (where the filter would normally fit). It is loose. Tried to tighten a little by hand, but can't tighten enough or properly until I remove the hoses. Project for this Satuday has been determined and it's not the MG! Man is it tight in there. Not roomy like the MG!

hehehe....Now that I think about it every car I own leaks, except maybe the Jag...maybe, cuz i haven't looked under it in a long time.

Well, got the Miata's oil filter relocation kit uninstalled, fixed, and reinstalled today. No more leaks. Needed an O ring. Back to the MGB tomorrow.
