TR2/3/3A Coil recommendation for TR3?

I noticed that what appeared to be a screw-in connector at the top of my coil is now just laying on top of the coil. The male end of the wire that was supposed to connect to it has lost all its threads and was just bouncing around in side the boot. Amazing the thing was running so well. I notice that that Moss still sells a screw in coil at the same price as a normal. I also noticed that the Lucas coil is twice the price of the "standard" offerings. Anything special about the Lucas coil (other than "originality"?

Does Moss list just that threaded piece (and possibly the special little brass washer for the end of the lead)?

No, there's nothing particularly special about a Lucas coil beyond originality, unless you're talking about a period Lucas "Sports" coil, which was higher output, but I don't think the current Lucas Sports coil is offered in the old screw-in HT lead style.

Do you mean the threaded metal post for the small low tension (white wire or white/black) wires or do you mean the large cable wire held in the center of the coil with a black threaded collar ?

If your problem is with the large cable, buy a new black threaded collar and use the same coil.

It's the hight tension lead-- Moss lists a nut #49 in the ignition section. Can't really tell what it is but it looks threaded on one end. Those of you who have one-- Is that what the male end looks like? Mine is essentially gone.

Here's what mine looks like...
