I finally changed the starter out in my 79 XJ6, changed all of the wires to it as well, just to be on the safe side. I picked up a rebuilt Lucas with a lifetime warranty at Autozone for about $115! Way cheaper than any of the Jaguar specialists I called. I guess it pays to shop around!
Anyway, now on to the coil. Do any of you know what wires should be coming into/leaving the coil? The DPO has done some creative wiring repairs, and my wiring diagrams aren't very clear on the matter. The way it sits, I've got two white/black wires coming out the - side, and three green wires and one white wire coming in the + side. I think two of the 'green' wires end up spliced at white/blue, and one is just plain white. Any suggestions? I am getting a spark, but I don't know if it is a strong one. Thanks for any help!
